Regular Season Round 26: Tarragona - Castelldefels 71-66

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Tarragona (11-8) won against at home bottom-ranked Castelldefels (7-13) 71-66 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Castelldefels won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Senegalese forward Modou Mbaye (203-94) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard David Fernandez (179-91) chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Tarragona's coach Bernardo Alvarez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Jordi Boronat (-85) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and Jaume Zanca added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Tarragona have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group C-A, which they share with Sant Josep. Loser Castelldefels stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Tarragona will face league's leader Vive El Masnou in Barcelona in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Castelldefels will play at home against Quart (#13) and hope to win that game.
