Regular Season Round 25: La Charite - GET Vosges 93-72

Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked GET Vosges (9-16) was outscored on the road by ninth ranked La Charite (12-13) 93-72 on Saturday. La Charite dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to GET Vosges' 34. Strangely GET Vosges outrebounded La Charite 47-33 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when La Charite made 7 blocks. GET Vosges was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for guard Kevin Thalien (190-92) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 assists. American forward Jerrell Wright (203, college: La Salle) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four La Charite players scored in double figures. Center Alexis Thomas (196-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and point guard William Mensah (175-95) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for GET Vosges. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. La Charite moved-up to eighth place, which they share with ALS Basket. Loser GET Vosges dropped to the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. La Charite will face Lourdes-Tarbes (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. GET Vosges will play against SO Maritime Boulogne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
