Everything went according to plan in Malaga where second ranked Novaschool (11-10) outleveled bottom-ranked Sevilla 2 (4-17) 87-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 48-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Novaschool dominated on the defensive end, holding Sevilla 2 to just 5 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Sevilla 2 51-24 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Guillermo Palma (-96) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Worth to mention Jackson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Lithuanian forward Tomas Balciunas (202-0) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and A Da-Silva added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Novaschool have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group D-Permam with 11-10 record having five points less than leader Vic. Sevilla 2 lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. Novaschool will face San Juan (#7) in San Juan del Puerto in the next round where they are favorite. Sevilla 2 will play at home against Multiopticas Baza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
