Second Stage Round 3: Castors Braine - Deerlijk 103-55

Date: March 10, 2018
An exciting game was played in Braine. Castors Braine faced Tulikivi. Host Castors Braine (2-0) smashed guests from Deerlijk (0-2) 103-55. Castors Braine dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tulikivi's 22. Castors Braine forced 20 Tulikivi turnovers and outrebounded them 46-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Castors Braine made 14 blocks. It was a great evening for American center Celeste Trahan-Davis (186-85, college: Elizabeth City, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). The former international Antonia Delaere (180-94) helped adding 12 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Phebe Raman (180-96) with 18 points and forward Lien Delmulle (181-93) scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Castors Braine will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tulikivi will play against R.Spirou Monceau (#2) in Charleroi and hopes to get finally their first victory.
