Regular Season Round 42: Gunma - Bambitious Nara 96-101

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Gunma (24-16) against sixth ranked Bambitious Nara (10-31) on Saturday night. Host Gunma was defeated by Bambitious Nara in a tough game in Gunma 96-101. Bambitious Nara shot 63.2 percent from the field and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Bambitious Nara especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 68.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) notched 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and guard Kiichi Kikuyama (178-92) supported him with 20 points. Even 22 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) did not help to save the game for Gunma. Point guard Hirotaka Kondo (187-82) added 16 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Bambitious Nara moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Aomori Watts. Loser Gunma keeps the second position with 16 games lost. Bambitious Nara will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gunma will play again against Bambitious Nara and hope to secure a win.
