Regular Season Round 22: Costa Masnaga - Marghera 76-58

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Marghera (11-11) lost on the road to second ranked Costa Masnaga (19-3) 76-58 on Saturday. Costa Masnaga forced 21 Marghera turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Marghera's players. Quite impressive performance for American center Camille Mahlknecht (190-93, college: CS Northridge) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Giulia Rulli (184-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Costa Masnaga players scored in double figures. Swingman Silvia Pastrello (181-1) replied with 11 points and 6 rebounds and guard Sara Toffolo (184-0) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Marghera. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Costa Masnaga maintains second position in A2 with 19-3 record behind leader Sesto SG. Loser Marghera dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. Costa Masnaga will face Carugate (#13) in Corugate in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Marghera will play at home against Bolzano (#14) and hope to win that game.
