Regular Season Round 42: Kanazawa Sam. - Shinshu BW 76-72

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Shinshu BW (18-22) lost to third ranked Kanazawa Sam. (20-20) in Ishikawa 72-76 on Saturday. Kanazawa Sam. made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for guard Ide Yuji (181-88) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Kanazawa Sam. players scored in double figures. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and guard Furuhashi Hiroki (185-92) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Shinshu BW. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Kanazawa Sam. maintains third position with 20-20 record having seven points less than leader Akita NH, which they share with Cyberdyne IR. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the fifth place with 22 games lost. Kanazawa Sam. will face again Shinshu BW (#5) in Nagano in the next round.
