Everything went according to plan in Plasencia where sixth ranked Almeria (12-8) won against bottom-ranked Jaguarzo Adepla (9-12) 93-82 on Saturday. Jaguarzo Adepla was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Strangely Jaguarzo Adepla outrebounded Almeria 34-18 including a 29-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jaguarzo Adepla was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Jesus Moral (-92) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Luis Rueda (186-96) chipped in 21 points. American forward David Atkinson (203-91, college: Salem Intern.) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and forward David Espadina (196-93) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jaguarzo Adepla's coach Jesus Porras let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Almeria have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Almeria maintains sixth position in Group D-Clasif with 12-8 record. Jaguarzo Adepla lost third consecutive game. Jaguarzo Adepla at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Almeria will face Huelva (#7) at home in the next round. Jaguarzo Adepla will play against CAM E.Soler and hope to win that game.
