The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Monaco as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Monaco defeated 8th ranked JDA Dijon at home 94-90. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of JDA Dijon. They outrebounded JDA Dijon 47-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. Monaco players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. JDA Dijon was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Christopher Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Bosnian center Elmedin Kikanovic (211-88, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Monaco's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St.) responded with 22 points and 7 assists and naturalized Chadian forward Jacques Alingue (201-88) scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. As mentioned above they took over a top position. JDA Dijon at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Levallois and ASVEL. JDA Dijon will play next round against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. Monaco will try to continue on its current victory against fifteenth ranked Olympique Antibes on the road.
