Regular Season Round 22: Roanne - Caen 89-63

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Caen (8-14) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Chorale de Roanne (16-6) 89-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-63. Chorale de Roanne dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Caen's 38. Chorale de Roanne forced 20 Caen turnovers. American David Jackson (195-86, college: W.Illinois) fired 24 points for the winners. Cameroonian forward Benoit Mbala (203-95) chipped in 15 points. Chorale de Roanne's coach Laurent Pluvy felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Jamaican guard Brynton Lemar (193-95, college: Cal-Davis) produced 21 points and Bryson Pope (198-90, college: Kent St.) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Chorale de Roanne have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Fos-Provence. Loser Caen keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Chorale de Roanne will face league's leader ADA Blois on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caen will play against the league's second-placed Entente Orleans 45 (#2) and hope to win that game.
