Very important is a home loss of second ranked Polonia Leszno (21-6) against eighth ranked Slask (14-14) on Saturday night. Host Polonia Leszno was defeated by Slask in Leszno 79-61. Slask outrebounded Polonia Leszno 43-29 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Aleksander Dziewa (205-97, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and point guard Jan Grzelinski (180-94, college: Canisius) chipped in 22 points and 7 assists. The former international Kamil Chanas (190-85) responded with 14 points and guard Nikodem Sirijatowicz (188-94) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slask have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Slask maintains eighth place with 14-14 record. Polonia Leszno lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the second position with six games lost. Slask will play against higher ranked Pruszkow (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polonia Leszno will play against Enea Astoria (#10) in Bydgoszcz and hopes to get back on the winning track.
