Regular Season Round 18: Kastela - Zagreb 91-64
Date: March 10, 2018
Bottom-ranked Kastela managed to get a second victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Kastela outleveled eleventh-ranked Zagreb in Kastela Sucurac 91-64. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 27-point difference suggests that Kastela is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by Kastela. Zagreb was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kastela dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Zagreb's 20. It was a great shooting night for Kastela especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Zagreb's players. Guard Nikola Dosen (190-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Ivan Rasetina (198-91) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Kastela players scored in double figures. Kastela's coach Luka Zitko felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Matej Buovac (201-93, college: Sacred Heart, agency: XL Basketball Agency) with 18 points and forward Ante Krapic (203-85, agency: XL Basketball Agency) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Kastela (2-14) moved-up to twelfth place. Zagreb lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Kastela will play against higher ranked H.Analitica (#9) in Zagreb in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zagreb will play on the road against KK Zabok and hopes to get back on the winning track.
