Regular Season Round 27: Osaka Evessa - Toyama Grouses 92-82

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Toyama Grouses (17-25) were defeated on the road by third ranked Osaka Evessa (15-27) 92-82 on Saturday. Osaka Evessa made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Takuya Hashimoto (186-94) helped adding 22 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was international forward Naoki Uto (188-91) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 assists and American forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Osaka Evessa maintains third place with 15-27 record having nineteen points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Toyama Grouses lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 25 games lost. Osaka Evessa will face league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyama Grouses will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
