No shocking result in a game in Trikala where twelfth ranked G.Larissa-Faros (6-12) defeated bottom-ranked Aiolos Trikallon (3-15) 74-65. It looked good early as Aiolos Trikallon took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then G.Larissa-Faros had a 28-13 second period charge getting the lead and Aiolos Trikallon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-74. Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) notched 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Nontas Papantoniou (190-90) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even 15 points by American point guard Gary Talton (185-90, college: Ill.-Chicago) did not help to save the game for Aiolos Trikallon. His fellow American import power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) added 6 points and 11 rebounds. Four Aiolos Trikallon players scored in double figures. G.Larissa-Faros moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Koroivos. Aiolos Trikallon lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. G.Larissa-Faros' next round opponent will be higher ranked Aris (#10) in Thessaloniki and it may be quite challenging game. Aiolos Trikallon will play on the road against Promitheas (#5) in Patras and hope to win that game.
