Date: March 10, 2018
There was no surprise when 6th ranked Breidablik (10-14) was defeated on the road by third ranked Keflavik (16-8) 80-72 on Saturday. Breidablik trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-80 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brittanny Dinkins (170-94, college: S.Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Thelma Agustsdottir (179-98) who added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Whitney Knight (190-93, college: FGCU) with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds and international forward Isabella Sigurdardottir (179-97) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Four Breidablik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 16-8 record having just three points less than leader Haukar. Newly promoted Breidablik keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. Keflavik will meet at home Stjarnan (#4) in the next round. Breidablik will play against Skallagrimur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
