Regular Season Round 22: FC Barcelona - Real Madrid 94-72

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Real Madrid (19-3) on the court of fourth ranked FC Barcelona on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by FC Barcelona 94-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Real Madrid. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by FC Barcelona. Real Madrid managed to win fourth quarter 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FC Barcelona dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Real Madrid's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Real Madrid's players. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. FC Barcelona have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Baskonia and Valencia. Real Madrid at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. FC Barcelona is looking forward to face Burgos (#15) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Real Madrid will play against Zaragoza (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
