Regular Season Round 22: PGE Turow - Trefl 99-100

A very interesting game took place in Zgorzelec. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked PGE Turow (13-13) to ninth ranked Trefl (13-11) 100-99 on Sunday evening. Trefl made 23-of-25 charity shots (92.0 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by PGE Turow helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Hungarian point guard Obadiah Trotter (188-84, college: Alabama A&M) notched 29 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and American center Steve Zack (211-92, college: La Salle) supported him with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by American center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) did not help to save the game for PGE Turow. Serbian forward Stefan Balmazovic (199-89) added 25 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for lost side. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Trefl have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Rosa and Polpharma. PGE Turow lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Trefl's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Legia (#17) in Warszawa and are hoping to win another game. PGE Turow will play at home against Polpharma (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
