Regular Season Round 22: Kagoshima - Aisin AW 78-76

The most exciting game of round 22 in the B League D3 took place in Renova. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Aisin AW (11-19) to sixth ranked Kagoshima (14-16) 78-76 in the game for the sixth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aisin AW. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kagoshima made 9 blocks. 27 personal fouls committed by Aisin AW helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Point guard Yasudo Yamada (179-98) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Fujita Shunsuke (187-93) replied with 31 points and center Eve Nyokozera (199-93) added 2 points and 19 rebounds in the effort for Aisin AW. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kagoshima maintains sixth position with 14-16 record. Aisin AW at the other side keeps the seventh place with 19 games lost. Kagoshima are looking forward to face league's leader Tokyo HT on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aisin AW's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Aichi Toyoda Gosei.
