The game between Top Four teams took place in Hiroshima. 4th placed host Dragonflies (21-21) lost to second ranked Kumamoto V. (30-12) 82-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dragonflies. Dragonflies were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) helped adding 21 points and 7 rebounds. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) scored 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Kumamoto V. maintains second place with 30-12 record having just three point less than leader Akita NH. Loser Dragonflies keep the fourth position with 21 games lost. Kumamoto V. will face Bambitious Nara (#6) at home in the next round. Dragonflies will play against the league's leader Fukuoka Rizing and hope to win that game.
