Regular Season Round 24: Montegrano - Bergamo 79-85

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Montegrano (15-9) against sixteenth ranked Bergamo (5-19) on Sunday night. Host Montegrano was defeated by Bergamo in a tough game in Montenegrano 79-85. Bergamo made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Bergamo outrebounded Montegrano 43-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Hungarian forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 25 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Marco Lagana (197-93) who added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Bergamo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American LaMarshall Corbett (189-88, college: Angelo St.) with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Valerio Amoroso (204-80, agency: Interperformances) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Bergamo moved-up to fourteenth place in A2. Montegrano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Bergamo will meet at home higher ranked Imola (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Montegrano will play against Dinamica MNV (#11) in Mirandola and hope to secure a win.
