Regular Season Round 27: Yokohama BC - Niigata Albirex 91-95

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (19-23) defeated on the road 6th ranked Yokohama BC (11-31) 95-91 on Sunday. Niigata Albirex made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Yokohama BC was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) with 26 points and 5 assists and American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Niigata Albirex. They maintain fourth place with 19-23 record. Yokohama BC lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 31 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face league's second-placed San-en NeoPhoenix in Hamamatsu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yokohama BC will play on the road against Diamond Dolphins (#3) in Nagoya and hope to win that game.
