Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Toyota Alvark (#2) and Hitachi Sunrockers (#4). Toyota Alvark (31-11) won against visiting Hitachi Sunrockers (22-20) 75-67. It was a great evening for American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Seiya Ando (184-92) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) with 30 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Leo Vendrame (183-93) scored 14 points. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Toyota Alvark keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Chiba Jets. Hitachi Sunrockers lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the fifth place with 20 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Nishinomiya S. (#5) in Hyogo in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses and hope to win that game.
