The game in Ciudad de Mexico was also quite interesting. Third ranked Aztks (6-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Quetzales (1-7). Aztks defeated Quetzales 51-38 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Cuban center Klavdia Calvo (186-83) who scored 5 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Angelica Molina (160-93) chipped in 13 points. Izchel Valdez produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Estefania Jurado added 8 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aztks have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mieleras and Gamos. Quetzales lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Acereras. Aztks will meet at home Mieleras (#4) in the next round. Quetzales' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ciudad de Mexico Lobas.
