There was a small surprise in Pavia where eleventh ranked USE Basket (12-13) edged 8th ranked Omnia Basket (13-12) 67-64 on Sunday. Forward Gabriele Giarelli (200-93, agency: Octagon Europe) fired 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Federico Botteghi chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Giulio Mascherpa (185-92, agency: Interperformances) produced 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Fabio Di-Bella (185-78) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Four Omnia Basket players scored in double figures. USE Basket moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted Omnia Basket keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. USE Basket will face league's leader Omegna at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
