Regular Season Round 27: SeaHorses - Hokkaido L. 81-80

Sixth-ranked Hokkaido L. (21-21) gave a tough game to first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (34-8) in Kariya. Aishin Sea Horses managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hokkaido L.. It was a great shooting night for Aishin Sea Horses especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) came up with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) added 23 points and 4 steals respectively for Hokkaido L. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Aishin Sea Horses. They maintain first place with 34-8 record. Hokkaido L. at the other side dropped to the second position with 21 games lost. They share it with San-en. Aishin Sea Horses will play against Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) in Tokyo in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play at home against Toyama Grouses and hopes to get back on the winning track.
