Regular Season Round 26: Leon - Rosalia 71-66
Date: March 11, 2018
Very expected game when 10th ranked Rosalia (9-15) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Leon (14-10) 71-66 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Leon made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Pablo Ruiz (-97) who scored 19 points and 4 assists. Marcos Fernandez chipped in 18 points. Nilo Barreiro (192-95) produced 11 points and 9 rebounds and American power forward Antonio Bishop (206, college: Columbus St.) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. They have a solid three-game winning streak. Leon maintains fourth position in Group A-B with 14-10 record, which they share with Carbajosa. Rosalia lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Leon will face higher ranked Chantada (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Rosalia will play against Estudiantes L. (#9) and hope to win that game.
