Regular Season Round 24: Orasi Ravenna - F.Kontatto BO 83-77

Round 24 in Serie A2 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Ravenna where host Orasi Ravenna (14-10) beat league's leader F.Kontatto BO (18-6) 83-77 on Sunday evening. They outrebounded F.Kontatto BO 45-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by F.Kontatto BO helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import guard Rayvonte Rice (193-92, college: Illinois) chipped in 27 points and 6 rebounds. Four Orasi Ravenna players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Alessandro Amici (200-91) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Matteo Chillo (203-93) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Orasi Ravenna moved-up to sixth place in A2. F.Kontatto BO at the other side dropped to the second position with six games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Alma Trieste who have the same record. F.Kontatto BO will play next round against strong Treviso Basket trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Orasi Ravenna will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Tezenis Verona on the road.
