Regular Season Round 19: Rapla - TTU 92-76

Date: March 11, 2018
Very expected game when 7th ranked TTU (3-16) was defeated on the road by third ranked Rapla (13-9) 92-76 on Sunday. The game without a history. Rapla led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 24-of-24 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Rapla outrebounded TTU 43-30 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. TTU was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Nolan Cressler (195-94, college: Vanderbilt, agency: 3Eye) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). The former international Gert Dorbek (193-85) helped adding 16 points. Rapla's coach Aivar Kuusmaa used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Levi Giese (206-90, college: Lafayette, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Matthias Tass (208-99) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Rapla have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-9 record having four points less than leader Kalev/Cramo. TTU lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Rapla will face bottom-ranked Noorteliiga (#8) in Tallinn in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. TTU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tallinn to the arena Noorteliiga.
