Regular Season Round 23: Soba - Gembo BBC 84-101

Top Division I top team - Gembo BBC (16-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat eighth ranked Soba (10-10) in Antwerpen 101-84. Gembo BBC players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 23 blocks. 31 personal fouls committed by Soba helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Jens Bouckaert (-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Center Anthony Vermeersch (202-90) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Gembo BBC players scored in double figures. Swingman Mitchel Gorremans (191-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks and point guard Anthony Goetgeluck (182-92) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Soba. Soba's coach Eddy Faus tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gembo BBC maintains first place with 16-5 record. Soba lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Gembo BBC's next round opponent will be Ninane (#13) at home which should be an easy win for them. Soba will play against Royal Brussels (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
