Second Stage Round 6: Louaize - Byblos 72-75

Important game to mention about took place in Zouk. Fourth ranked Byblos (4-19) saved a 3-point derby victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Louaize (8-15) 75-72 on Wednesday evening. Byblos brought some defensive toughness thanks to 7 blocks!!! by Bosnian-FYR Macedonian center Marko Dujkovic (226-90), who was close to triple double as he scored 19 points and added 12 rebounds. to lead the effort. Naturalized American guard Tarek Ammoury (198-90, college: Marymount) supported him with 26 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Even a double-double of 23 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists by A Chahoud did not help to save the game for Louaize. Point guard Hassan Dandach (187-91) added 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Byblos maintains fourth position in Group B with 4-19 record, which they share with Tadamon. Louaize lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second place with 15 games lost. They share the position with CS Antonins. Byblos will play against league's leader Al Moutahed in Tripoli in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Louaize will play on the road against the league's second-placed CS Antonins and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
