Regular Season Round 25: DELTA - Batumi 88-77

Date: March 15, 2018
The game in Marneuli was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Batumi (12-11) played at the court of eighth ranked DELTA (7-15). DELTA defeated Batumi 88-77 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Batumi. The game was mostly controlled by DELTA. Batumi managed to win third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Nickolas Neal (183-89, college: Purdue-NCent.) stepped up and scored 22 points for the winners and his fellow American import Deondre Ray (196, college: Cameron) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Spencer Collins (193-93, college: Wofford) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and Ukrainian forward Leonid Stefanishin (199-85) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted DELTA maintains eighth place with 7-15 record. Loser Batumi keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. DELTA will meet league's second-placed Dinamo Tbilisi on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Batumi will have a break next round.
