Regular Season Round 40: Kouvot - BC Nokia 63-92

Another exciting game was played in Kouvola between sixth ranked BC Nokia and 5th ranked Kouvot where BC Nokia (20-15) crushed Kouvot (19-16) on the road with 29-point difference 92-63. The game without a history. BC Nokia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kouvot's 32. BC Nokia had a 39-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. American point guard Vincent Council (186-90, college: Providence) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 assists for the winners. BC Nokia's coach Ville Tuominen felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Drew Brandon (193-92, college: E.Washington) replied with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Ville Kaunisto (204-82, agency: Court Side) added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Kouvot. Five Kouvot players scored in double figures. BC Nokia moved-up to fifth place. Kouvot at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 16 games lost. BC Nokia will play against bottom-ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Kouvot will play against Joensuun Kataja (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
