There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Ciudadela (8-13) beat on the road 3rd placed N.Avellaneda (13-9) 82-70 on Friday. Ciudadela forced 19 N.Avellaneda turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Facundo Alvarez (186-98) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Juan Rodriguez (173-1) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. Four Ciudadela players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Maximo Velez (-97) with 25 points and 4 assists and guard Fernando Small (184-77) scored 21 points. Newly promoted Ciudadela maintains fifth place with 8-13 record, which they share with Estudiantes LP. Loser N.Avellaneda keeps the third position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
