Regular Season Round 28: Ryukyu GK - Shimane SM 77-57

Everything went according to plan in Okinawa where first ranked Ryukyu GK (34-10) outleveled 6th ranked Shimane Magic (7-37) 77-57 on Saturday. Ryukyu GK dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Shimane Magic's 26. They outrebounded Shimane Magic 44-29 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Forward Naoki Tashiro (188-93) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) added 9 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ryukyu GK maintains first position with 34-10 record. Shimane Magic lost eighteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth place with 37 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Toyama Grouses (#5) at home in the next round. Shimane Magic will play against the league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. and hope to win that game.
