Regular Season Round 44: Akita NH - Toyotsu FE 108-92

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Toyotsu FE (27-17) on the court of first ranked Akita Happinets on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Akita Happinets 108-92. Akita Happinets forced 23 Toyotsu FE turnovers and had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The best player for the winners was Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) chipped in 23 points. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Kei Sugimoto (182-92) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akita Happinets (40-4) have an impressive 18-game winning streak. They maintain first position which they share with defeated Toyotsu FE. Toyotsu FE at the other side still keeps top place with 17 games lost. Akita Happinets are again looking forward to face league's leader Toyotsu FE in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyotsu FE will have a break next round.
