There was a small surprise when sixth ranked San Fernando (9-13) won against at home 3rd placed Unicaja-Andalucia (9-12) 76-72 on Saturday. San Fernando shot 23 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Unicaja-Andalucia only scored seven points from the stripe. Unicaja-Andalucia was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Diego Gallardo (198-89) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Jose Ruiz (200-97) contributed with 20 points for the winners. San Fernando's coach Juan Luis Esteban used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Ignacio Rosa (206-99) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Dutch center Morgan Stilma (202-0) added 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for Unicaja-Andalucia. San Fernando moved-up to fifth place in Group D-Permam, which they share with San Juan and Benahavis. Unicaja-Andalucia lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. San Fernando will face league's second-placed Novaschool in Malaga in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Unicaja-Andalucia will play at home against Benahavis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
