Regular Season Round 27: Villarrobledo - Real Madrid II 98-81

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Real Madrid II (19-5) against fourth ranked Villarrobledo (17-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Real Madrid II was defeated by Villarrobledo in Villarrobledo 98-81. The game was mostly controlled by Villarrobledo. Real Madrid II was better in fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Villarrobledo shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Villarrobledo outrebounded Real Madrid II 27-16. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was point guard Arturo Fernandez (182-90) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). American forward Vadal Faniel (201-92, college: Texas A&M Int.) chipped in 23 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Mario Nakic (200-1) who recorded 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Swedish guard Melwin-Jan Pantzar (190-0) added 13 points respectively. Five Villarrobledo and four Real Madrid II players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Villarrobledo maintains fourth place in Group B with 17-6 record. Real Madrid II at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Villarrobledo's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Gran Canaria II (#10) in Las Palmas which should be theoretically an easy game. Real Madrid II will play at home against Casvi (#13) and hope to win that game.
