Everything went according to plan in Barcelona where seventh ranked Joventut LC (12-11) edged 12th ranked Segle XXI (7-16) 53-51 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Segle XXI trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 19-10 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 51-53 at the end of the game. Joventut LC looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Eliana Soriano who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Paula Tutusaus (186-95) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Joventut LC players scored in double figures. Estel Puiggros responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Aixa Wone (184-0) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Joventut LC maintains seventh place in Group A with 12-11 record, which they share with Rioja. Loser Segle XXI keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Joventut LC's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Barcelona to the arena Lima-Horta.
