No shocking result in a game in San Cristobal where third ranked Adelantados (17-6) won against 14th ranked Olimpico 64 (4-19) 76-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 34-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American forward Caira Washington (188-95, college: G.Washington) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds. Point guard Laura Fernandez (169-89) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. Swingman Susana Bacete (179-93) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and guard Paula Dominguez (172-89) scored 12 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Adelantados. They maintain third place in Group B with 17-6 record behind leader GDKO Bizkaia. Olimpico 64 lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Adelantados will face Magec Tias (#8) in Las Palmas in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Olimpico 64 will play at home against Alcobendas (#6) and hope to win that game.
