Very expected game in Laguna where 13th ranked Adareva (4-19) was defeated by second ranked Valencia (20-3) 64-46 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-46. It was a great evening for Montenegrin center Ana Turcinovic-Pocek (190-93, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Mali power forward Meiya Tirera (186-86, agency: ProDep Management) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Nigerian-British swingman Ejay Ofomata (180-85, college: Central State) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Kim Tabares scored 13 points. Adareva's coach Maria Sosa tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the sixteenth consecutive win for Valencia. They maintain second place in Group B with 20-3 record having just two point less than leader GDKO Bizkaia. Loser Adareva keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Valencia will face Distrito Olimpico (#11) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Adareva will play on the road against Leganes and hope to win that game.
