Regular Season Round 39: Vitebsk - GOCOR-Sozh 69-60

There was no surprise when 8th ranked GOCOR-Sozh (8-28) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Vitebsk (21-13) 69-60. It looked good early as GOCOR-Sozh took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vitebsk had a 23-11 second period charge getting the lead and GOCOR-Sozh was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-69. Vitebsk forced 24 GOCOR-Sozh turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Aliaksei Kachan (185-91) who led his team to a victory with 16 points. Forward Egor Gil (195-96) contributed with 8 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Vitebsk's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (186-93) answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Aleksandr Kopacev (203-95) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for GOCOR-Sozh. Vitebsk have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 21-13 record. GOCOR-Sozh lost tenth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 28 games lost. They share it with Prinemanye.
