Regular Season Round 23: CVCD Granada - Almeria 56-67

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Almeria (7-16) defeated on the road 9th ranked CVCD Granada (7-16) 67-56 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Almeria especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. It was a great evening for Bosnian center Samra Omerbasic (191-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Alicia Gonzalez (187-86) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Almeria players scored in double figures. Bosnian center Aleksandra Begenisic (193-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and Pilar Arrivi scored 10 points. CVCD Granada's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Almeria moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with defeated CVCD Granada. Almeria will face higher ranked Picken Claret (#4) in Valencia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
