Regular Season Round 27: Culleredo - Marin 61-96

Date: March 17, 2018
There was no surprise when 15th ranked Culleredo (8-17) was outleveled at home by leader Marin (25-0) 96-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Marin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 22 Culleredo turnovers and outrebounded them 42-25 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Marin looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Desmond Simmons (198-92, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Antonio Pantin (206-88, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Marin players scored in double figures. American Johnathan Murphy (199-89, college: Columbus St.) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Miles Burnside (196, college: Dallas Christian) added 16 points in the effort for Culleredo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the twenty fifth consecutive win for Marin. They maintain first place in Group A-B with 25-0 record. Culleredo lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Marin will face Ponferrada CDP (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Culleredo will play against Leon (#4) and hope to win that game.
