Regular Season Round 23: Levallois - Gravelines 76-88

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Levallois (11-12) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (11-12) 88-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 52-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Gravelines-Dunkerque made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American Chris Johnson (198-90, college: Dayton) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import power forward Taylor Smith (199-91, college: SF Austin) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Petr Cornelie (211-95) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gravelines-Dunkerque moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Levallois. Gravelines-Dunkerque will face Olympique Antibes (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
