Regular Season Round 23: Le Mans - Hyeres-Toulon 92-80

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Le Mans (16-7) beat at home bottom-ranked Hyeres-Toulon (7-16) 92-80 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Le Mans. Hyeres-Toulon was better in second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Le Mans looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for Senegalese center Youssoupha Fall (221-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American Mykal Riley (196-85, college: Alabama) helped adding 17 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Ferdinand Prenom (201-91) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Le Mans and four Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. Le Mans maintains second place with 16-7 record behind leader Monaco, which they share with Strasbourg. Hyeres-Toulon lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Le Mans will face Chalons-Reims (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Hyeres-Toulon will play against Le Portel (#9) and hope to win that game.
