Very expected game when 14th ranked Houthalen (5-15) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Gent Hawks (12-9) 92-81 on Saturday. Gent Hawks forced 19 Houthalen turnovers. Strangely Houthalen outrebounded Gent Hawks 29-15 including 20 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Houthalen's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gent Hawks made 17 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Joeri Vermoessen (200-93) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 assists and guard Laurent Lhote (182-84) who added 16 points and 7 assists during the contest. Five Gent Hawks players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was A Miayimgwamda with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and guard Enrico Montanari (180-91) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Gent Hawks have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 12-9 record. Houthalen at the other side stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost.
