Regular Season Round 23: Le Portel - Boulazac 87-62

Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Boulazac Basket (7-16) was rolled over on the road by tenth ranked Le Portel (11-12) 87-62 on Saturday. The game without a history. Le Portel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Le Portel outrebounded Boulazac Basket 47-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international Gary Chathuant (193-83) helped adding 21 points. American guard Karvel Anderson (188-91, college: Robert Morris) responded with 24 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Brandon Ubel (208-91, college: Nebraska, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Le Portel moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Boulazac Basket keeps the seventeenth position with 16 games lost. Le Portel will face bottom-ranked Hyeres-Toulon (#18) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Boulazac Basket will play against Olympique Antibes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
