The game in Amsterdam supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Leiden (18-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Amsterdam (6-18). Leiden smashed Amsterdam 100-79 on Saturday. The game without a history. Leiden led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Amsterdam's 24. Leiden looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Amsterdam's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Carrington Love (186-94, college: Green Bay) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import center Clayton Vette (202-88, college: Winona St., agency: Court Side) chipped in 15 points. Four Leiden players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Dimeo Van-Der-Horst (197-91) who recorded 22 points and 6 assists and Max Van-Schaik (210-91, agency: Court Side) added 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leiden moved-up to second place. Amsterdam lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 18 games lost. Leiden will meet bottom-ranked Weert (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Amsterdam will play against Rotterdam and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
