Very important is a road loss of third ranked Energy Invest (15-8) against seventh ranked Mgzavrebi (9-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Energy Invest was defeated by Mgzavrebi in Tbilisi 97-86. The game was mostly controlled by Mgzavrebi. Energy Invest managed to win fourth quarter 34-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mgzavrebi dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Energy Invest's 36. Mgzavrebi had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) notched 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and Cameroonian forward Bertrand Nkali (206-92, college: Houston) supported him with 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Mgzavrebi's coach Anatoli Berishvili used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 23 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by guard Levan Tsekvava (190-89) did not help to save the game for Energy Invest. American point guard Adam Blazek (185-92, college: Gannon) added 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the guests. Four Mgzavrebi and five Energy Invest players scored in double figures. Mgzavrebi maintains seventh position with 9-14 record. Loser Energy Invest dropped to the second place with eight games lost. They share the position with Dinamo Tbilisi. Mgzavrebi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Cactus Tbilisi.
