Regular Season Round 21: Reims - SIG 75-48

There was no surprise when 11th ranked SIG (5-16) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Reims (10-11) 75-48 on Saturday. Reims dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to SIG's 22. Guard Fleur Devillers (181-95) stepped up and scored 23 points and 4 assists for the winners and Montenegrin center Natasa Popovic (192-82) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was Cameroonian Amina NJonkou (185-88, college: Arizona) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Kathleen Bourdin (162-87) scored 10 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Reims maintains sixth place with 10-11 record, which they share with COB Calais. Loser SIG keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Reims will meet higher ranked Toulouse (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SIG will play against COB Calais (#7) and hope to secure a win.
